Class Management

Learn how to create a class on Trio Education

Prerequisites

  • Required permissions: Admin or Staff role with classroom management access, as well as device accessibility on the student's device

  • Supported platforms: Web-based (Chrome, Edge, Safari) for the admin

  • Device type: Desktop or laptop (for the admin) - iOS/iPadOS/macOS/Windows/Android/ChromeOS (for the students)

  • Supported OS (for Trio Student -Agent app)
    Android: 7 and higher

    iOS: 17 and higher

    Windows: 10 and higher

    macOS: Sonoma (14.0) and higher

    Chromebook: The Latest update is recommended

  • Network requirements: Stable internet connection with access to education.trio.so

Before You Start

Trio Education’s Classroom module enables centralized class management, linking devices, students, staff, and policy profiles to educational groups.

Classrooms serve as the primary structure for assigning management profiles to enrolled students and their devices. Ensure you have at least one profile and staff account set up before initiating classroom creation for smoother onboarding.

Step 1: Navigate to the Classes Section

  1. Log in to the Trio Education dashboard via https://education.trio.so

  2. From the left-side menu, click Classes

  3. Expected result:The Class Management screen displays current classrooms and options

Step 2: Add a New Class

  1. Click the + Add class button

  2. In the Add new class dialog, fill in:

    • Class name* (mandatory)

    • Stage* (select from junior high school or senior high school)

    • Profile for SOD devices (optional)

    • Profile for BYOD devices (optional)

    • Staff (optional)

  3. Expected result: Form captures initial classroom details

Troubleshooting this step:

  • Issue: Mandatory fields not filled → Solution: Ensure “Class name” and “Stage” are selected

  • Common mistake: Skipping profile assignment → Prevention: Assign default profiles early for automation

Step 3: Configure Location and Avatar

  1. Choose location and geofence:

    • Select “Same as Trio school’s” (default)

    • Or select “Define new location and fence” if customization is needed

  2. Choose an avatar from the predefined icons

  3. Click Continue

Expected result: Location and visual identity are linked to the class

Step 4: Complete Class Creation

  1. Review confirmation: Classroom added successfully

  2. Choose Done or click Add new class to repeat the process

Expected result: Class appears in the Class List with selected stage, profile, and linked devices/students

Step 5: View or Edit Existing Classes

  1. In the Class List, click the ⋮ three dots next to a classroom

  2. Select from:

    • View: Opens class details (devices, students, staff)

    • Edit: Modify name, profiles, or assigned staff

    • Remove: Deletes the classroom from the system

  3. Expected result: Class metadata updates in real-time upon confirmation

  • Assign students and link devices to the class

  • Review and apply profiles for policy enforcement
