Trio Education, formerly known as Safes School, is an application to monitor, manage, and safeguard students at school. Smartphones and Tablet devices have become an inseparable part of their home lives, and many students use a smart device during the school day too. Applications come in many varieties: some are essential education tools, while others are time-consuming, distracting and disruptive to young minds still learning to self-regulate. And harmful content is easily found on the Internet, making the younger ones vulnerable.

So what is the best way to manage time and focus attention for students while they're at school? How can educators ensure students are safe when browsing the internet?

Trio experts and software engineers conducted extensive research and concluded it was not possible to completely ban smart devices or prevent students from bringing them into the classroom. In fact, due to the ever-increasing use of online education platforms and resources it is now common for students to use tablets and laptops in-classroom for learning purposes. In standard device configurations there are no guarantees students will not see inappropriate online content, or misuse devices - a risk that increases when students bring their own devices laden with games, social, and connectivity apps.

After an initial supervising step, the Trio Student app is installed onto the student device and this communicates with the Trio cloud platform to download Smart Rules and send device usage information back to the school. Educators or admin staff can supervise usage and update Smart Rules at any time. The Trio Student app is available for recent versions of Android, ChromeOS, iOS/iPadOS, macOS, and Windows.
