Enroll Android Devices via Basic RMM (APK Download)
Prerequisites
Required permissions: Admin or Staff role with enrollment access
Supported platforms: Android (Non-Enterprise)
Device type: Company-Owned or BYOD
Supported OS: Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) or later
Network requirements: Stable internet connection with access to the Trio panel
Additional requirements: Trio Agent APK link or QR code provided by your admin
Before You Start
This enrollment method allows admins to onboard Android devices using the RMM Agent APK — ideal for devices not enrolled via Android Enterprise. It provides remote monitoring, app and policy delivery, and optional location tracking for company-owned devices.
Ensure that users have the enrollment link or QR code ready and that unknown app installations are allowed temporarily during setup.
Step 1: Download the Trio Agent
On the Android device, open the enrollment link provided by your admin.
If prompted with a warning that the file “might be harmful,” tap Download anyway to continue.
Step 2: Install the APK
Locate the downloaded file and tap Install.
If prompted, enable Install unknown apps for the browser or file manager being used.
Step 3: Launch the App
Once installed, open the Trio app from the home screen.
Tap Get Started to begin the enrollment process.
Step 4: Enter Pairing Code
On the pairing screen, enter the Enrollment Code displayed in the Trio Admin panel.
Tap Continue to proceed.
Step 5: Grant Permissions
Tap Let’s grant permissions and allow all required permissions:
a. Accessibility service
b. Battery optimization
c. Display over other apps
d. Device admin access
e. Notifications
f. Nearby devicesWhen you grant the location permission, set it on "Always allow" for constant device location monitoring.
Step 6: Finalize Enrollment
After permissions are granted, tap Continue to complete the setup.
The Trio Agent will automatically sync with your organization’s policies and apps.
