Before You Start

This enrollment method lets admins set up Android devices in Device Owner mode using Trio Connect via USB. It provides full control with policy enforcement, app delivery, location tracking, and remote management for corporate devices.

Ensure the target device is unlocked and that both Developer Options and USB Debugging are enabled before starting. On the admin side, make sure Trio Connect is installed with all dependencies.

Step 1: Enable Developer Options

  1. On the Android device, go to Settings › About phone.

  2. Tap the Build number (or OS version) 6–7 times until the message “Developer mode has been enabled” appears.

Step 2: Turn On USB Debugging

  1. Go to Settings › Developer options.

  2. Toggle USB debugging to On.

  3. Confirm the authorization prompt on the device.

Step 3: Install Trio Connect (on PC or Mac)

  1. On the admin’s computer, download and install Trio Connect.

  2. If a security prompt appears on macOS, open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll to the alert, and select Open Anyway.

  3. For Windows users, the installer runs directly without additional configuration.

Step 4: Download Dependencies

  1. Open Trio Connect on the computer.

  2. When prompted, click Download & Install Dependencies.

  3. Wait for the installation to finish before proceeding.

Step 5: Connect the Device

  1. Connect the Android device to your computer using a USB cable.

  2. Ensure the device is unlocked.

  3. When prompted on the phone, select Trust.

  4. Confirm that the connection status in Trio Connect changes to “Connection found.”

Step 6: Provision the Device
