Prerequisites
Requirements:
Mac computer with Apple Configurator 2 installed
USB cable to connect iOS/iPadOS device
Trio MDM server URL or enrollment profile
Before You Start
Supervised enrollment offers maximum management control for company-owned Apple devices. It enables IT admins to enforce advanced restrictions, configure Kiosk/Single App Mode, and apply security or compliance policies remotely.
Use this method when the device is not linked to Apple Business Manager (ABM) or Apple School Manager (ASM) but still requires full supervision and MDM management through Trio.

Step 1: Connect the Device
On your Mac, open Apple Configurator 2.
Connect the iPhone or iPad via a USB cable.
The connected device will appear under All Devices.
Step 2: Select Organization
Navigate to the Organizations tab.
Click the Add (+) button to create a new organization, or select an existing one.
Step 3: Create a New Organization
Click Next to begin creating a new organization.
When prompted, sign in using an Apple School Manager or Apple Business Manager account.
Step 4: Generate Supervision Identity
Choose Generate a new supervision identity.
This identity allows Trio to manage and supervise the device securely.
Click Done to save and continue.
Step 5: Set Up the MDM Server
Navigate to the Servers tab.
Click the Add (+) button to create a new MDM server.
Provide a name (e.g., “Trio MDM Server”) and enter the Trio enrollment URL.
Click Next to complete the setup.
Step 6: Prepare the Device
Select the connected iPhone or iPad under All Devices.
Click Prepare from the top menu.
Choose Manual Configuration and enable the following:
✅ Supervise devices
✅ Allow devices to pair with other computers
Click Next.
Step 7: Assign Organization and MDM Server
Select the previously created Organization.
Choose the Trio MDM server from the list.
Click Next to continue.
Step 8: Finalize Configuration
Select which setup screens to display or skip on the device’s first boot (e.g., Apple ID, Siri, Screen Time).
Click Prepare to start the process.
The Configurator will apply the profile, supervise the device, and show a progress bar.
Once completed, the device will automatically restart and display the Remote Management screen.
Message: “Your device is managed by Trio.”
Next Steps
Immediate actions:
Confirm the newly enrolled device appears under Fleet → Enrollment → Recent Enrollments in your Trio dashboard.
Verify policy and app deployment have started automatically.
