This article explains how to use the Trio MSP Dashboard to monitor multiple organizations and customize dashboards. The widgets shown in your dashboard are dynamic—they update based on the selected organization, dashboard template, and any filters applied. The examples below reference common widgets such as Ownership distribution, OS distribution, and Devices by compliance state, but your widget library may vary.
Step 1: Open the MSP Dashboard
In the left navigation, select Dashboard.
Review the header area to confirm you are in the MSP workspace and not inside a single organization portal.
Step 2: Switch the Active Organization
In the top bar, open the Organization dropdown.
Select the target organization from the list.
How selection works (dynamic behavior):
Once you select an organization, all dashboard widgets refresh to reflect that organization’s device inventory and activity.
Organization rows include operational metadata (for example, Region, Owner, Portal link, and Trio license status such as Active/Expired/Need renew) to help MSPs select the correct customer environment quickly.
Step 3: Switch Between Dashboard Templates
In the top bar, open the Dashboard template dropdown (for example, “Default dashboard”).
Select the dashboard you want to view.
Dynamic behavior:
Switching dashboards changes the widget layout and the dataset view without changing underlying device data.
Step 4: Interpret Dashboard Widgets (Dynamic Examples)
Widgets are modular components that pull data for the selected organization and update automatically. Common examples:
Example A: Ownership distribution
Locate Ownership distribution.
If a platform filter is available (for example, Android), select it to narrow the results.
What it shows:
Device ownership breakdown such as COD and BYOD, refreshed per organization and filter.
Example B: OS distribution
Locate OS distribution.
Review the OS breakdown and the “active” counts per platform.
What it shows:
Total enrolled devices by OS (Android/iOS/iPadOS/macOS/Windows) and how many are currently active.
Example C: Devices by compliance state
Locate Devices by compliance state.
Review compliant vs non-compliant distribution.
What it shows:
Real-time compliance posture for the selected organization, including a count of non-compliant devices.
Example D: Total devices
Locate Total devices.
Review the count and any “newly added” indicator.
What it shows:
Total enrolled devices and recent enrollment activity for the selected organization.
Step 5: Add Widgets to a Dashboard
Select Add widget (top-right).
Use Search to find a widget by name.
Browse widget categories (for example, Alerts and notification, Device).
Select widgets to add. Selected widgets are marked as included.
Select Confirm to apply changes.
Dynamic behavior:
Added widgets immediately start reflecting data for the active organization.
Widget categories are library-driven; the available widgets depend on your Trio MSP build and enabled modules.
Step 6: Create a New Dashboard
Open the dashboard menu and select Create dashboard (or the equivalent option in your UI).
Enter a Dashboard name.
Under Widgets, select Add to open the widget library.
Select the widgets you want included.
(Optional) Enable Show this template as a default dashboard if this should be the primary view.
Select Save.
Result:
A new dashboard template is created and becomes selectable from the dashboard dropdown.
Step 7: Manage Dashboard Layout and Updates
Use Edit to modify a dashboard’s widget set and layout.
Changes apply to the dashboard template and update dynamically as organization context changes.
Widget timestamps (for example, “Updated: Today at …”) indicate the last refresh time for that widget’s dataset.
