Before You Start

This guide covers the complete billing process for Trio, including viewing plan options, managing active subscriptions, purchasing new plans, and updating payment information. Understanding your current subscription status and available plan options will help you make informed decisions about your device management needs. All payments are processed securely through Stripe and your card details are never stored on Trio servers.

Step 1: Access Your Billing Settings

Navigate to Settings in your Trio dashboard, then select Billing from the left sidebar menu.

Troubleshooting this step:

  • Issue: Cannot access Billing settings → Solution: Verify you have Account Owner or Billing Administrator permissions

  • Common mistake: Looking for billing in wrong menu → Prevention: Billing is located under main Settings, not account settings

Step 2: Review Current Subscription and Plan Options

Your billing dashboard shows three main sections:

Current Subscription Status:

  • Plan type and renewal date

  • Trial status (if applicable)

  • Payment method on file

  • Device license usage

Available Plans:

  • Starter ($1/device/month): Essential controls for small teams

  • Professional ($2/device/month): Stronger security and management for growing organizations (RECOMMENDED)

  • Enterprise ($3/device/month): Full mobile device management with enterprise-grade security

All plans support iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS platforms.

Expected result: Clear understanding of your current plan status and available upgrade options.

Step 3: Manage Active Subscription (For Existing Subscribers)

If you have an active subscription, the Overview tab shows:

  • Plan Details: Current plan name and billing cycle

  • Renewal Information: Next payment date and amount

  • Payment Method: Credit card ending in last 4 digits with manage option

  • Device Licenses: Current usage (e.g., 12/20 remaining) with manage option

  • Invoice History: Past billing records with filtering options

Troubleshooting this step:

  • Issue: Payment method shows as expired → Solution: Click "Manage" next to payment method to update card details

  • Common mistake: Confusing device limit with actual usage → Prevention: Device licenses show used/total format (12/20 = 12 used out of 20 licensed)

Step 4: Purchase or Upgrade Your Plan

To purchase a new plan or upgrade:

  1. Click "Buy Now" on your desired plan

  2. The Checkout Summary opens with three steps: Subscription Details, Billing Information, Payment Method

Subscription Details (Step 1):

  • Selected Plan: Confirms your chosen plan type

  • Billing Cycle: Choose Monthly or Annual (Annual saves up to 18%)

  • Device Licenses: Use the slider to select number of devices (no minimum device requirement, maximum 500)

Troubleshooting this step:

  • Issue: Cannot select enough device licenses → Solution: Maximum is 500 per checkout; contact Sales for larger deployments

  • Common mistake: Not considering annual savings → Prevention: Review the "Save up to 18%" option for annual billing

Step 5: Enter Billing Information

Complete the required billing details:

  • Full Name: Primary contact for billing and invoices

  • Address: Complete mailing address including suite/unit number

  • Country: Select from dropdown menu

  • City and Postal Code: Local address information

Step 6: Complete Payment

Enter your payment information securely:

  • Card Number: 16-digit credit card number (Visa and Mastercard accepted)

  • Expiration Date: MM/YY format

  • CVV: 3-4 digit security code

  • Coupon Code: Optional discount code if available

Security notice appears confirming payment encryption and Stripe processing.

Step 7: Review and Complete Purchase

Before clicking "Go to Stripe":

  1. Review the Order Summary showing plan cost and device count

  2. Verify monthly estimate calculation

  3. Confirm terms of service acceptance

  4. Click "Go to Stripe" to complete secure payment

Next Steps

Immediate actions:

  • Check email confirmation of subscription activation

  • Review updated billing status in your dashboard

  • Begin enrolling devices up to your licensed amount

  • Download invoice from billing history if needed

Troubleshooting

  • Trial ending soon notification → Plan upgrade required before trial expiration date to maintain service

  • Payment failed email received → Update payment method in billing settings or contact your bank

  • Cannot see invoice history → Invoices appear after first successful payment; check email for confirmation

  • Device license limit reached → Upgrade device count through billing settings or remove unused devices

  • Annual billing not applying discount → Discount appears at final checkout; verify annual selection is active

  • Billing address validation failing → Ensure address matches your payment method's billing address exactly

  • Special pricing not showing → Nonprofit and education pricing requires contacting Sales team directly

Notes

Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe and card details are never stored on Trio servers. Tax calculations apply at checkout and may vary by region. Annual billing provides up to 18% savings compared to monthly billing. For organizations requiring more than 500 device licenses, contact the Sales team for custom enterprise pricing.
