Device Enrollment on Trio MDM Solution

Device enrollment is the first step to managing and securing your organization's devices using Trio. This process ensures that all devices—regardless of operating system—are brought under Trio’s management framework, enabling centralized control, monitoring, and policy enforcement. Trio supports device enrollment across multiple platforms, including iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Android, and Windows.

Enrollment Process Overview

  1. Account Setup:
Before enrolling devices, administrators must configure their Trio account and organization profile. This includes providing organization details, setting up geofencing parameters, and preparing policies to be applied during enrollment.

  2. Enrollment Methods:

    • iOS & iPad:
Devices are enrolled using Apple’s Device Enrollment Program (DEP) or manual enrollment via MDM profiles. Supervisory control can be enabled to apply advanced restrictions and configurations. The APN certificate is required for communication between the MDM server and Apple devices.

    • macOS:
Enrollment supports both DEP and manual enrollment. Managed macOS devices allow administrators to enforce system preferences, deploy apps, and secure the device through policies like screen saver settings, Wi-Fi configuration, and more.

    • Android:
Android devices can be enrolled via QR codes, Android Enterprise (work profiles), or manual methods. Trio facilitates device and app management, applying permissions, password policies, and restrictions based on the organization’s needs.

    • Windows:
Enrollment is achieved through manual MDM enrollment. This supports policy enforcement for updates, user permissions, VPN configurations, and application management.

  3. Pairing and Verification:
Each enrolled device is paired with the Trio dashboard using a pairing code for secure identification. This ensures that only authorized devices are added to the system.

  4. Post-Enrollment Configurations:
Once enrolled, Trio applies pre-configured policies like Wi-Fi, VPN, restrictions, updates, and security profiles. This ensures that the device is immediately compliant with organizational standards and secure for use.

Key Benefits of Trio’s Enrollment
