Connect Google MDM Using Trio Managed Setup

Connect Android device management through Trio's automated Google MDM integration. Quick setup with zero-touch configuration.

Prerequisites

  • Required permissions: Administrator access to the Trio console

  • Google account requirements: Business Google Workspace account

  • Supported platforms: Android devices

  • Additional requirements: Active internet connection

Before You Start

Trio Managed setup provides the fastest path to Android device management. Trio handles all Android Enterprise configuration automatically, eliminating the need for manual Google Admin Console setup or domain verification.

This connection method creates a direct link between your Trio console and Google's Enterprise Mobility Management system. Once connected, you can immediately begin enrolling Android devices.

Have your Google Workspace business account credentials ready before starting.


Step 1: Access Google MDM Integration

  1. Navigate to Fleet > MDM Setup

  2. Click the Google tab

  3. Expected result: Google MDM Integration page displays with two connection options

Step 2: Initiate Trio Managed Connection

  1. Locate the Trio Managed section

  2. Click Connect

  3. Expected result: "Connect with Trio" modal appears

If you see "Connected" status: Your Google MDM integration is already active. No further setup required.

Step 3: Review Setup Information

  1. Review the connection steps displayed in the modal:

    • You'll be redirected to Google to approve MDM setup

    • Trio will automatically configure your EMM profile

    • Return here and start enrolling devices

  3. Expected result: Setup steps clearly outlined before proceeding

Step 4: Connect via Google

  1. Click Connect via Google

  2. Expected result: Browser redirects to Google authentication

Troubleshooting this step:

  • Issue: Redirect fails or doesn't load → Solution: Check internet connection and disable popup blockers

  • Issue: Wrong account type error → Solution: Ensure you're using a business Google Workspace account, not personal Gmail

Step 5: Approve Google Permissions

  1. Sign in to your Google Workspace business account

  2. Review and approve the required permissions

  3. Expected result: Google redirects back to Trio console

Common mistake: Using personal Gmail account → Prevention: Verify you're signed into the correct business Google Workspace account

Step 6: Verify Connection Success

  1. Expected result: Console displays "Connection successful" message

  2. Expected result: Trio Managed section shows Connected status with green indicator

  3. Review connection details:

    • Organization Name

    • Organization ID

    • Created via (admin email)

    • Connection Date

Troubleshooting

Connection Process Fails:

  • Symptoms: Error message during Google authentication or redirect failure

  • Cause: Network connectivity or browser restrictions

  • Solution: Check internet connection, disable popup blockers, try different browser

Wrong Account Type Error:

  • Symptoms: Google displays account type error during authentication

  • Cause: Using personal Gmail instead of business Google Workspace account

  • Solution: Sign out of personal Google accounts, sign in with business Google Workspace credentials
