Learn how to configure setting on a mac device to manage the vulnerabilities.

To review the Patch management setting on a managed macOS device, you should follow the instructions below:

Open Trio’s panel and click on the Security Tab. You will see a tab called “Patch Management.

On the Patch Management tab, there is a dashboard that provides you the information regarding the software and its potential vulnerabilities.

There is an Overview tab, Patch library, and Patch history. You can toggle the macOS and Windows auto patch options on top of the page.

The other section shows the software patch management in progress.

And in the other sections, you can see the patch severity in devices.

There are a series of general settings to set automated patch management for macOS devices.

The settings include the following items:

  • Automatic check for the items

  • Automatic installation of the items

  • Installing critical items

  • Restricting software updates

  • Automatic download update

  • Automatic app update installation

  • Allow prerelease app installation

The second section includes other settings aside from updates.

You can select the installation type on the Mac devices, and you can choose the priority of the installation

The installation types include:

  • Default

  • Download only

  • Install as soon as possible

  • Notify only

  • Install later

  • Install and force restart
