To review the Patch management settings on a managed macOS device, you should follow the instructions below:

How to Use Patch Management in Trio

  1. Open the Trio panel and navigate to the Compliance tab.

  2. Select Patch Management from the submenu.

Within the Patch Management section, you’ll find a comprehensive dashboard displaying key insights about software updates and associated vulnerabilities across your device fleet.

The interface includes:

  • Overview: A summary of current patch activity and overall patch health

  • Patch Severity View: A visual breakdown of vulnerabilities by severity level and affected endpoints

This centralized view helps IT teams automate and monitor patching workflows, ensuring devices remain secure and compliant with minimal manual effort.

General Settings – Update Preferences for macOS

  • Automatically check for updates

  • Automatically install macOS updates

  • Install critical updates

  • Restrict software updates (Requires admin to install)

  • Automatic download

  • Automatically install app updates

  • Allow pre-release installation

The installation types include:

  • Default

  • Download only

  • Install as soon as possible

  • Notify only

  • Install later
