Local Active Directory Integration

Streamline your workflow by connecting your on-premises Active Directory to Trio.

Integrating your Local Active Directory (AD) with Trio eliminates the need for manual user management. By installing a lightweight sync agent on your Windows Server, Trio can keep your user list updated in real-time.

How User Synchronization Works

The integration creates a secure bridge between your local server and the Trio. Once active, the following processes are automated:

1. Automated User Onboarding

When a new employee is added to your Local AD, Trio detects the change and automatically creates a corresponding user profile in the Trio dashboard.

2. Groups Mapping

Trio doesn't just sync names; You can sync your existing AD Groups (e.g., "Sales," "Finance") directly into the platform.

  • Benefit: You can assign specific MDM policies to these groups. For example, any user added to the "Sales" group in your Local AD will automatically receive the "Sales Tablet Profile" in Trio.

3. Real-Time Lifecycle Management

User synchronization ensures that access is revoked as quickly as it is granted.

  • Suspension/Deletion: If an employee leaves the company and their account is disabled or deleted in the Local AD, Trio will automatically deactivate their access.

Setup & Configuration

To begin synchronizing your users, follow these steps in the Trio Admin Panel:

1. Navigate to the Integrations > User Management section and select local active directory

2. Download the Sync Agent: Tap on Connect button and download the Trio AD Connector for your Windows Server.

3. Secure Pairing: Install the agent, setup configuration and pairing code to connect.

4. Set Sync Frequency: Configure how often Trio should check your Local AD for updates (e.g., every hour or once a day).
