Learn more about setting up alerts in Trio

Prerequisites

  • Required permissions: Admin or Staff role with access to Settings → Alerts

  • Supported platforms: Web-based Trio admin console (Chrome, Edge, Safari)

  • Device type: Desktop or laptop

  • Network requirements: Stable internet connection

Before You Start

The Alerts section in Trio lets you configure which alerts you receive and how they are delivered — via in-app notifications or email. These alerts are triggered in real time from devices and servers to help you quickly detect performance issues, compliance violations, or security risks.

Alerts configured here apply only to your account and do not affect other admins.

Step 1: Access the Alerts Settings

  1. Log in to the Trio admin console.

  2. In the left navigation menu, select Settings → Alerts.

Expected result: The Alerts Settings page displays two main categories — Health & Performance and Security & Compliance — with individual alerts listed under each.

Step 2: Configure Health & Performance Alerts

  1. In the Health & Performance section, review available alerts:

    • 3-day inactivity – Device has not checked in for 3 days.

    • CPU overload – CPU usage exceeds configured threshold.

    • GPU overload – GPU usage exceeds configured threshold.

    • Disk overload – Disk space is critically low.

    • RAM overload – Memory usage exceeds configured threshold.

  2. For each alert, choose your preferred delivery method:

    • In-App: Displays a notification in the Trio interface.

    • Email: Sends a message to your registered email address.

  3. Tick the checkbox in either or both columns to enable.

Troubleshooting this step:

  • Issue: Not receiving email alerts → Solution: Verify your account email in Settings → Organization → Profile.

  • Issue: In-app alerts not showing → Solution: Ensure browser notifications are enabled for the Trio console.

Step 3: Configure Security & Compliance Alerts

  1. Scroll to the Security & Compliance section.

  2. Review available alerts:

    • Firewall deactivation – Firewall has been disabled.

    • FileVault deactivation – FileVault encryption turned off (macOS).

    • BitLocker deactivation – BitLocker disabled (Windows TPM inactive or device inactive).

    • Device non-compliance – Device no longer meets compliance policies.

  3. Select In-App and/or Email for each alert.

Step 4: Save Changes

  1. Click Save changes at the bottom-right of the page.

  2. To revert to the system defaults, select Reset to Defaults.

  3. Click an alert to open detailed information, including:

    • Alert category

    • Affected device(s)

    • Severity level (Information, Warning, Critical)

    • Timestamp

    • Assigned admin

    • Related AutoPilot and Device Group details

  4. Use Ignore this alert to dismiss it, or Mark as solve once addressed.

    .

Step 6: Monitor Real-Time Alerts from Dashboard

You can also access alerts directly from the Dashboard using the Notification & Alerts panel:

  1. Click the bell icon in the top-right corner of the dashboard.

  2. Switch between Alerts and Notifications tabs.

  3. Use View all alerts to open the full list, or Mark All as Read to clear them.
