Directory Management

Learn more about Directory Management in Trio.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

The Directory Management section in the Trio platform serves as the central hub for handling organizational identity and access control. It is divided into two core components: Users and User Groups.

From the Users panel (as shown in the first screenshot), administrators can add new users manually, import them via CSV, or sync them from external sources such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra ID. Each user entry is richly detailed with attributes including email, user state (e.g., Active, Staged, or Suspended), assigned user groups, password status (e.g., Set, Not Set, or Expired), MFA setup, role, and source of creation. The interface allows for quick user lookup using the search bar, and powerful filters by status, role, or user group—ideal for large organizations managing hundreds of users. Batch operations are enabled through checkbox selection, while an action menu provides quick links to edit user profiles, reset passwords, or suspend accounts.

The User Groups tab (as shown in the second screenshot) complements this functionality by offering a structured way to organize users. Each group includes metadata like name, type (e.g., Static), number of users, and creation timestamp. Groups are essential for bulk policy assignment and structured access management, enabling role-based access control, policy linking, or application distribution. Administrators can add, edit, or remove user groups, as well as view or manage group membership directly. This segmentation is especially valuable for applying compliance policies or restrictions uniformly across departments or access levels.

Together, the Users and User Groups components enable complete lifecycle management—from onboarding and role assignment to password enforcement and group-level governance. The Directory section not only simplifies day-to-day administrative tasks but also ensures scalable, secure, and policy-driven user management for enterprises.

Make sure you get to manage users and groups in this section.
