Updated over a month ago

Prerequisites

  • Supported devices: Android 7.0+

  • Estimated time: 5–10 minutes

  • Hardware requirements: Android phone or tablet with camera (only for QR method)

Before You Start

Trio offers multiple enrollment methods tailored to IT teams and employee onboarding. Devices enrolled using the steps below will be linked to the selected enrollment profile and managed via the Trio dashboard.

  • Internet connection is required during setup.

  • Trio agent must be downloaded and installed on the device.

  • Enrollment methods require a code (pairing or QR) that expires after a set period.

Step 1: Download the Trio Agent

  1. Open a browser on the target Android device.

  2. Download and install the Trio APK.

If downloading via PC: Transfer the file to your device and install manually.

Step 2: Enable “Unknown Sources”

  1. On the Android device, go to Settings > Security.

  2. Enable Install from Unknown Sources.

  3. Confirm when prompted.

Tip: On certain brands (e.g., Oppo, Xiaomi, Redmi), you may also need to enable "Allow Restricted Settings" under Settings > Apps > All Apps > Trio.

Step 3: Choose Your Enrollment Method

Trio supports two enrollment paths. Choose the one that matches your workflow.

Option 1: Enroll via QR Code

Ideal for fast camera-based setup from the IT panel.

  1. Launch the Trio agent.

  2. Select Enroll via QR code.

  3. Scan the QR code shown in the Trio admin panel or sent via email.

  4. Enter the password (if prompted).

  5. Tap Continue.

Option 2: Enroll via Pairing Code

Simple 6-digit code shown in the Trio panel.

  1. Launch the Trio agent.

  2. Select Enroll via pairing code.

  3. Enter the code (e.g., 148323).

  4. Tap Continue.

Step 4: Grant Required Permissions

Once enrolled, the app will ask for critical permissions to function properly.

Permissions requested include:

  • Accessibility service

  • Disable battery optimization

  • Location access

  • Storage access

  • (Optional) Notification access

💡 Tap Let’s Grant Permissions and follow the on-screen guide.

Step 5: Start Managing the Device

Once all permissions are granted, the device is enrolled.

  • The device appears under Devices in the Trio admin panel.

  • It inherits the selected Enrollment Profile (e.g., Marketing, Sales).

  • Device policies and restrictions apply based on profile settings.
