Learn more about the OS patch in Trio.

Updated over 2 months ago

The OS Patch Detail view in Trio provides full visibility into vulnerabilities (CVEs), affected devices, and audit logs for any system-level update. This ensures IT admins can evaluate risk, track patch deployment, and maintain compliance across endpoints.

Where to Find It

Navigate to Patch Management > OS Patch > Click on a listed OS update (e.g., Sequoia v14.125.1).

Tabs Overview

1. Affected Devices

View all devices impacted by the OS vulnerability or update:

  • Device name & serial number

  • Assigned user and group

  • Patch status:

    • Open: Patch pending

    • Patching: Installation in progress

    • Closed: Successfully patched

    • Failed: Patch attempt failed

You can also filter and sort devices, or use Patch Selected to apply the patch to specific targets.

2. CVEs Tab

View a detailed list of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures related to the OS version:

  • CVE ID (clickable for details)

  • Published date

  • Severity levels: Critical, High, Medium, Low, Unknown

Use this tab to prioritize patch actions based on threat severity.

3. Event Log

Audit every action taken related to the patch deployment:

  • Event type (e.g., Login, Certificate Renewed, Profile Changed)

  • Admin involved and their role

  • Timestamp

  • Description (if available)

This tab helps verify who took what action, and when—critical for security audits.

Quick Actions

  • Patch Now: Instantly trigger patch deployment to all affected devices.

  • Patch Selected: Select specific devices to patch manually.

  • Filter & Sort: Narrow down results by severity, date, user, or device.

Best Practices

  • Start patching devices with critical CVEs first.

  • Monitor the Event Log to confirm successful activity and detect delays or issues.

  • Re-patch or investigate any device with a Failed status.

  • Use filters to segment deployment by user group or device type for phased rollouts.
