Patch overview

Learn more about the Patch overview tab in Trio.

Updated over 2 months ago

The Patch Overview dashboard offers a centralized view of OS and software patching across your organization's devices. It helps IT admins quickly assess patch status, locate vulnerable endpoints, and take action with one click.

OS Patch & Software Patch Charts

These two donut charts provide a visual summary of patch progress:

  • Pending – Updates that have not been deployed

  • Done – Successfully applied patches

  • Failed – Patch attempts that did not complete

You can use the dropdown filter (top-right) to adjust the time range (e.g., “Last week”) and the ⋮ (3-dot menu) for potential export or detailed view options.

Most Vulnerable Devices

Lists the top devices with unpatched vulnerabilities by severity:

  • Device name & platform

  • Vulnerability count (e.g., 4 critical, 1 low)

  • Action: Install All Patches – Click to instantly trigger patch deployment for that specific device.

  • Top-right dropdown: Use the OS filter to limit results (e.g., Windows only).

Prioritize devices with multiple critical vulnerabilities. You will see more information if you click on each device.

Top OS Patches

Displays the most widely distributed OS patches:

  • Patch Name & Target OS

  • Device count

  • Patching Progress Bar – Visual cue for deployment status

Dropdown controls:

  • Top-right OS filter: View only one OS (e.g., macOS, iOS)

  • ⋮ Menu: Access additional options like details, reports, or resync (platform dependent)

Top Software Patches

Same structure as Top OS Patches, focused on third-party or built-in software (e.g., browsers, productivity apps):

  • App Name

  • Target OS

  • Device count

  • Progress bar – Update coverage

Dropdown filters and menus behave similarly to the OS section.

Timestamps

Each section has an “Updated: Today at [time]” note to confirm data freshness. Clicking the refresh icon (↻) next to a section or group reloads the data in real-time.
