Overview

Vulnerability and Patch Management on Trio provides full access int othe exisitin vulnerabilitites along with the remediations admints can hire.

The Patch Management Overview in Trio provides a centralized view of your organization’s OS and software patch status, helping IT teams track vulnerabilities and ensure device compliance.

1. OS Patch Widget

  • Displays the total number of devices with OS patches.

  • Color-coded status:

  • 🟡 Pending

  • 🟢 Done

  • 🔴 Failed

  • Filterable by time period (e.g., "Last week").

2. Software Patch Widget

  • Shows the status of software-level patches.

  • Same color indicators and filtering options as the OS Patch widget.

3. Top Vulnerability Devices

  • Highlights devices with the most missing patches.

  • Shows platform, number of critical and low vulnerabilities.

  • Includes quick action: Install All Patches button per device.

4. Top OS Patches

  • Displays patching progress by OS type.

  • Shows:

  • Patch name

  • Number of devices affected

  • Visual bar of patching progress

  • Filterable by OS.

5. Top Software Patches

  • Mirrors Top OS Patches section but for software updates.

  • Identifies which applications need attention.

Quick Actions

  • Use the “Install All Patches” buttons to initiate patching directly from the dashboard.

  • Filters allow you to focus on specific OS types or date ranges.

SECTION 2: OS PATCH

The OS Patch tab provides a detailed breakdown of available operating system patches for macOS devices, helping IT teams quickly assess, prioritize, and deploy critical security updates.

OS Patch Table Breakdown

1. OS Name

  • Lists macOS versions (e.g., Sequoia, Monterey, Big Sur) that require patching.

2. OS Version

  • Displays the version number for the affected OS (e.g., 12.23.11).

3. CVE

  • Shows the number of known vulnerabilities (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) related to each OS version.

  • Red text (e.g., CVE-2023-19999) highlights high-severity issues.

4. Severity

  • Categorizes vulnerabilities as:

  • 🔴 Critical

  • 🟢 Low

  • Click the dropdown to expand or hide severity details.

5. Devices

  • Number of devices running the corresponding OS version.

6. Status

  • Indicates the current patch deployment status:

  • Open – Patches not yet installed.

7. Action

  • Quick link to Install All patches for that OS version across all listed devices.

8. Last Updated

  • Shows the last time this patch entry was refreshed.

Additional Features

  • Platform Tabs: Switch between Android, iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Windows.

  • Search & Filter: Use the search bar or filter to find specific OS versions.

  • Sorting: Sort by severity or other parameters to prioritize patching.

SECTION 3: SOFTWARE PATCH

Software Patch – Windows Apps (User Guide)

The Software Patch tab gives a clear view of vulnerabilities and patching progress for applications installed on Windows devices. It helps IT teams detect, prioritize, and patch high-risk apps to strengthen endpoint security.

Software Patch Table Overview

1. App Name

  • Lists affected software like Finder, Excel, Chrome, .Net Framework, and Teams.

2. Version

  • Shows the current version of each application deployed (e.g., 12.23.11 or 67.22.11.2).

3. CVE

  • Indicates vulnerabilities with Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) counts.

  • Critical CVEs are highlighted in red for visibility (e.g., CVE-2023-19999).

4. Severity

  • Displays the severity level of the issues:

  • 🔴 Critical

  • 🟢 Low

  • Expandable dropdown to show more severity breakdown.

5. Devices

  • Number of devices where the app version is installed.

6. Status

  • Current patch status per app:

  • Open – Not patched yet.

  • Retry – Patch failed (e.g., 8 failed).

  • Patching – In progress with percentage and success ratio.

  • Closed – Successfully patched.

7. Action

  • Execute remediation with:

  • Install All – Patches all affected devices.

  • Retry – Re-attempt failed patches.

8. Last Updated

  • Timestamp of the last patch check or action.

Other Features

  • Tabs: Toggle between Android, iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Windows.

  • Filter/Search: Narrow down apps by name or version.

  • Sort by Severity: Prioritize most critical software threats.

This view centralizes software patching to reduce exposure to exploits and ensure app-level compliance.

SECTION 4: EVENT LOG

Events Log – User Guide

The Events Log tab in Trio provides a comprehensive activity trail of actions taken within the Patch Management module. It ensures visibility, accountability, and audit readiness for all administrative changes and user actions.

Events Table Overview

1. Name
Displays the type of event or action taken, such as:

  • Login

  • Password Reset

  • Profile Unassigned from Group

  • Device Locked

  • Group Added/Removed

  • APNs Certificate Renewed

2. Admin
The name and avatar of the administrator who performed the action.

3. Admin Role
Indicates the role assigned to the admin (e.g., Super Admin, IT admin L2, Custom role 1).

4. Date & Time
Timestamp of when the action occurred, ensuring chronological tracking (e.g., Jul 28, 2019 @ 2:30 PM).

5. Description
Summarized details of the event. Clicking the arrow on the far right expands the full description (currently showing placeholder text).

Tools & Filters

  • Search bar: Filter logs by event type, user, or destination.

  • Filter icon: Apply advanced filtering to narrow results.

  • Sort by: Organize logs by name or other columns.

  • Export button: Download logs for recordkeeping or audits.

This log enhances security transparency and operational control by giving IT admins detailed insight into who did what, when, and why.
