Add a Device - Android Enterprise

Learn how to enroll the Android devices on Trio.

Updated over a month ago

The Add Device page in Trio allows IT administrators to securely enroll Android devices into the management platform. This process supports both company-owned (COD) and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) environments, offering flexible enrollment workflows.

Follow the steps below to complete Android device enrollment under the Android Enterprise option:

Step-by-Step Enrollment Guide

1. Prepare the Android Device

On the Android device you want to enroll, follow this path:

  • Open the Settings app

  • In the settings menu, tap Google

  • Go to the All Services tab

  • Tap Set up & restore

  • Select Set up your work profile

This action prepares the device to link with your organization's MDM environment.

2. Choose Enrollment Type

In the IT Admin Enrollment section on the right:

  • Select whether the device is Company Owned (COD) or BYOD

  • Choose the organization you want to assign the device to (via the dropdown menu)

3. Enroll the Device

Use one of the following methods to enroll:

  • Scan the QR Code:
Open the camera app on your Android device and scan the QR code provided in the panel.

  • Enter the Pairing Code:
Manually enter the pairing code displayed next to Via Code into the appropriate field on your device during setup.

4. Start Managing

Once the device is paired successfully, it will appear in your Trio device inventory. You can now start applying profiles, assigning software, and enforcing compliance policies.

Notes

  • Ensure the device meets the Android Enterprise requirements (typically Android 10+)

  • Internet access is required for enrollment and policy syncing

  • Devices will automatically receive policies based on the assigned group and role

This process ensures Android devices are securely and efficiently onboarded into your organization’s mobile device environment with minimal manual configuration.
